I Pity The Fool (Thanks Mr. T)

When you go on Wikipedia looking for what the history of April Fools Day and you get in the first line – “uncertain” it begs the question of whether it is a Fools Errand to even care. Well perhaps that is the best explanation – but after reviewing 8 -10 various stories, I like this one the best.

The likeliest explanation is that it began as a way to mock French people who were slow to switch to the Gregorian Calendar which changed New Year’s from April 1 to January 1. These folks were labeled “fools” and somehow that makes me smile.
